A pensioner was robbed right near her home in the Uplands this morning, sparking outrage across the ward. The 78-year old victim was pushed to the ground and had her handbag and possessions stolen in a brutal incident.The woman is said to be stable but in shock and police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.Uplands Ward Conservative candidate Tom Giffard commented "It is an absolutely abhorrent incident, and distressing that an individual has targeted our close-knit community for such an attack."

Swansea Council should help improve the look of Mumbles, South Wales West AM Suzy Davies has said.Mrs Davies has backed traders in the seaside village who have called for a scrub and lick of paint for tired-looking parts of the seafront.The Conservative AM, who lives in Swansea, also felt the Welsh Government should shout about Swansea Bay from the rooftops.

Suzy Davies, the Assembly Member for South Wales West, officially launched the Welsh Conservative’s “Sketty Contract” last week outside Sketty Primary School. In attendance along with the Assembly Member were Dan Boucher, Craig Lawton, Tony Lloyd, and Dayne Powell, four of the Welsh Conservative’s candidates for Sketty.Ms Davies, who is a member of the Assembly’s Children and Young People Committee, said that “The safety of our children has got to be a major priority, and that is particularly the case when they are travelling to and from school.”
