A pensioner was robbed right near her home in the Uplands this morning, sparking outrage across the ward. The 78-year old victim was pushed to the ground and had her handbag and possessions stolen in a brutal incident.
The woman is said to be stable but in shock and police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
Uplands Ward Conservative candidate Tom Giffard commented "It is an absolutely abhorrent incident, and distressing that an individual has targeted our close-knit community for such an attack."
Giffard added "We are so used to living in safety in the Uplands, despite the busy lifestyle. And I know the Uplands community will join with me in supporting the victim and assisting in every way possible in the hope that the perpetrator gets caught and fully apprehended."
The male suspect has been described as white, around 5ft 8ins tall, average build, late teens to early 20’s, and wearing a dark coloured beanie hat, and top with a chest zip, and dark coloured bottoms.
Anyone with information should contact police in Swansea on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
